Solar Chiefs - Great Game, Horrible Security

For my first tutorial I will be looking at the latest online flash game, Solar Chiefs. In essence this game is great, it has everything a flash game needs; gameplay, graphics, and a large player-base. However, there is one thing that this game lacks, security.

After a few minutes of toying around, I reached the conclusion that this game has no security whatsoever. Within a round I was able to alter my health, change my money, and kill other players without even attacking. With the basics out of the way, I moved onto bigger exploits, and after two or three rounds, I was able to alter my rank. Read on to find out how!

Before you start you are going to need to download one of my favourite pieces of software, WPE Pro. It can be found here; http://wpepro.net/

Before you download it however, please be sure to disable any virus scanners as this program is considered a virus by some. You have my word that it isn't though!

Once you have the program downloaded, extract it a folder, and open it up. You should see a screen that looks something like this;


Once the program is open, start up Solar Chiefs and join a round. Now switch back to WPE Pro, and hit the downward arrow in the top left. Look through the list that appears until you find either "iexplore" or "firefox" depending on your browser. Click on the proper process. Now simply go back to the game, and play a round normally.

Once you win, don't hit "Return to Lobby," instead go back to WPE and hit the black play button in the top left. Now you can return to the lobby. Next simply hit the stop button beside the button you pressed before, and a list of "packets" should come up. Browse through these until you find one that has the text "endgame" in it. Right click this packet and hit send, change the send mode to continuous, and the rate to 100 ms, then hit play! Every second you should get 10 wins! However the game will crash if you keep sending the packet once you rank up, so simply hit pause, "okay" in the game, then "play" again!

Have fun, and remember, there is nothing I hate more than a dishonest hacker. If you try to lie about how you achieved a high level, I will find out.

What is this site?

I've been exploiting games for the past few years, and in those few years, I've read hundreds of tutorials on hacking, programming, and exploits in general. In order to further my knowledge in the subject, I stole from other people like myself; I took their programs to use as examples, I learned from their guides, and most importantly, I asked them questions.

However, in that period of time, not once did I ever give back to the community. I would read a guide, and simply say thanks, I would steal someone's code, then never talk to them again, or I would ask someone a question, then ignore them after getting my answer. I am sick of being a drain on this community, and I am finally ready to give back. This blog is my method of giving back.
